Extracirriculars

  • Model UN

I have been a member of my school’s Model UN club since my freshman year; starting sophomore year, I joined the leadership team as a cohead, and was Co-President my junior year. This year, as one of our two Undersecretaries General, I’m responsible for planning weekly club meetings and preparing members for conferences through skills presentations and activities. While my actual responsibilities in club leadership have not changed since I started, I am now happy to have greater authority in my favorite part of the club: helping younger students find the same love in public speaking as I have.

  • Madonna Mission

I joined my school’s Madonna Mission club as a freshman and for almost four years now, I have traveled to the Madonna Mission organization  to tutor refugee children and help them with their homework.

  • Medical Outreach Club

Sophomore year, I joined the Medical Outreach Club as an aspiring doctor, and fell in love with the community I met here. When I joined the leadership team as Secretary my junior year, I was excited to step into my role in organizing weekly meetings to practice suturing skills or gain first aid certification, and plan for guest speakers in nursing, anesthesia, surgery, and internal medicine.

  • Scholastic Bowl

Last year, I joined New Trier’s Scholastic Bowl with one of my teammates. Even though I have avidly played Trivial Pursuit with my mom since the covid pandemic, I did not expect to love this club as much as I do. Now, every week, the two of us look forward to attending.
